Intrusion by Sir Realist

Intrusion

The merging of two living things in an intrusive and nightmarish surreality.

Representing the dark side of the surreal, Intrusion represents not as much the dreamlike and colorful but the nightmarish and disturbing. We all have a tendency to imagine the worst. The thoughts intrude on us, much like the image here. But there remains the question, which is intruding? Is it the image that intrudes on our consciousness or our morality that intrudes on the image? A similar question, which in the painting is intruding on the other more, the creature from the shell, or the fingers of the hand?

This painting is acrylic on canvas and measures 16″ by 16″
